DelDems Chairman Erik Raser-Schramm's statement on the retirement of Rep. Bryon Short

Press Release
Delaware Democratic Party Chairman Erik Raser-Schramm issued the following statement following today's announcement from Rep. Bryon Short that he would not be seeking re-election:

For more than a decade, Bryon Short showed residents of the 7th District, and indeed our entire state, what it means to be a Democrat.

A small business owner, Rep. Short understands the importance of fostering a climate that gives entrepreneurs every opportunity to be successful. A husband and father, he is committed to supporting legislation that strengthens middle-class families. A champion for equal rights, he led the successful fight to add gender-identity to Delaware’s anti-discrimination laws and co-sponsored Delaware’s marriage equality legislation.

The Delaware Democratic Party thanks Rep. Short for his legacy of public service and congratulates him on his pending retirement from the General Assembly. In the meantime, we know he will continue his fight for all Delawareans right through his final days in Dover.
