Delaware Democratic Party Announces That President Joseph R. Biden, Jr. Will Join the First State Dinner As Honored Guest 

Wilmington, DE ― The Delaware Democratic Party announced that former President Joseph R. Biden Jr. will appear as the honored guest at the First State Dinner on Friday, May 1, 2026. The event will be held at the Chase Center on the Riverfront in Wilmington, beginning at 6:00 p.m., with a VIP Reception at 5:00 p.m. 

Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock of Georgia will address attendees as our Keynote Speaker. Senator Reverend Warnock is the first African American to represent Georgia in the United States Senate, and the first African American Democrat elected to the Senate from a Southern state. He has served Georgia in the U.S. Senate since 2021. 

Democratic National Committee Chair Ken Martin will join Delaware Democratic Party Chair Evelyn Brady to kick off the evening.  

The First State Dinner is the relaunch of the party's signature annual fundraising event, formerly known as the Jefferson-Jackson Dinner. The evening will bring together Delaware Democrats, elected officials, community leaders, and supporters for a night of celebration, conversation, and commitment to shared values. 

"Delaware is President Biden's home, and the Delaware Democratic Party is his family," said Chair Brady. "Having him with us on May 1, alongside Senator Warnock and DNC Chair Martin, makes this evening something truly historic. This is a night every Delaware Democrat will want to be part of."

Sponsorship opportunities are available ranging from $2,500 (Silver) to $7,500 (Diamond), with recognition and engagement opportunities throughout the evening. VIP tickets are $1,000 and include admission to the VIP Reception. General admission tickets are $130.
