2020 Presidential Primary Debates

The Democratic National Committee's 2020 Presidential Primary Debate Series is officially underway! Over the next several months the Democrats running to become the next Presidential Nominee will face off on the debate stage to make the case for your vote.

Fifth Primary Debate

November 20th - Georgia

Qualifications: Participating candidates need to get at least 3% support in four different polls published from a list of approved pollsters between September 13 and November 13, which cannot be based on open-ended questions and may cover either the national level or one of the first four primary/caucus states (Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada, and South Carolina). Alternatively to the four-poll threshold, a candidate may qualify with at least five percent support in any two polls from the same list of organizations and time period. Candidates must also receive donations from at least 130,000 unique donors AND a minimum of165,000 unique donors and 600 unique donors per state in at least 20 states.

Fourth Primary Debate

October 15th - Westerville, Ohio

Qualifications: Participating candidates must receive 2 percent support or more in four national or early-state polls—Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, and/or Nevada—publicly released between June 28, 2019, and two weeks before the debate. Candidates must also receive donations from at least 130,000 unique donors AND a minimum of 400 unique donors per state in at least 20 states.

Qualifying candidates: Joe Biden, Cory Booker, Pete Buttigieg, Julian Castro, Tulsi Gabbard, Kamala Harris, Amy Klobuchar, Beto O'Rourke, Bernie Sanders, Tom Steyer, Elizabeth Warren, and Andrew Yang

 

Third Primary Debate

September 12th - Houston Texas 

Qualifications: candidate must receive 2 percent support or more in four national or early state polls—Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, and/or Nevada—publicly released between June 28, 2019, and two weeks before the debate. receive contributions from at least 130,000 unique donors, and receive a minimum of 400 unique donors per state in at least 20 states.

Second Primary Debate

July 30 & 31 - Detroit, Michigan 

Qualifications: Candidates will need to either have at least 1 percent support in three qualifying polls, or provide evidence of at least 65,000 individual donations from a minimum of 200 different donors in at least 20 states.

Night 1 Candidates include Steve Bullock, Pete Buttigieg, John Delaney, John Hickenlooper, Amy Klobuchar, Beto O'Rourke, Tim Ryan, Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, and Marianne Williamson

June 26 and 27 - Miami, Florida 

Qualifications: Candidates needed to either have at least 1 percent support in three qualifying polls or provide evidence of at least 65,000 individual donations from a minimum of 200 different donors in at least 20 states.
