DOVER, DE— The page can now officially begin turning for Democrats in the 41st District.

In a public meeting attended by over 40 Democrats from all over the region, the 41st District Committee selected former Millsboro Mayor Lynn Bullock as their candidate.

“I’m excited and honored that the committee selected me from this group,” Bullock said. “But it’s time to work. I’ve been a public servant my whole life and I want to represent this district proudly and with integrity.”

Bullock has lived in Millsboro for nearly his entire life. He was a Delaware State Police officer until he retired in 1989 after rising to Captain and head of the criminal division of the DSP. He then worked as an emergency planner for Sussex County while serving as mayor of Millsboro for eight years.

“We are thrilled that the committee selected such a qualified candidate with a long history of serving our area proudly,” said Sussex County Democratic Chair Tom Chapman. “The local, county, and state Democrats are united and ready to take this seat back!”

Three candidates spoke to about 45 people at the meeting. The vote was unanimous. Both of the other candidates – Dagsboro Mayor Wayne Baker and former Dagsboro Mayor Brad Conner – pledged their support to Bullock.

Bullock and his wife, Bonnie Kay, live in Millsboro and are active parents and grandparents. He is a 50-year member of Grace United Methodist Church and is a member of the board of trustees. Bullock is also a past president of the Sussex County Association of Towns (SCAT) and currently is a member of the U.S. Highway 113 Study Group.
