Lt. Gov. Carney Discusses Internet Security

Lt. Governor Carney was on hand Friday, October 20th, 2006 for a special presentation to middle school students on the importance of internet security. As part of Cyber Security Awareness Month, the Lt. Governor teamed with the Department of Technology and Information to deliver a message of safety and responsibility to students at the Louis Redding Middle School in Middletown.

The interactive presentation to over 200 youth shared valuable safety tips and included plenty of audience participation. Most importantly, Lt. Governor Carney and DTI Security Expert Rick Truitt encouraged those in attendance to exercise caution when talking online and to never share personal information. The presentation also stressed the importance of using the internet responsibly, and shared guidelines for keeping personal computers secure.
