Gov. Markell Blasts GOP Partisanship, Supports Obama's Economic Plan
Yesterday, Governor Jack Markell appeared on MSNBC with Andrea Mitchell to discuss his new position as the Chair of the National Governors Association. In the interview, Markell addressed the effort by Republican governors to disobey federal law and boycott the Affordable Care Act, and further endorsed the healthcare law.
The governor reiterated his continuing support for President Obama's economic plan, and cited the 29 straight months of job growth under President Obama . The tax plan announced by the president will save typical middle class families up to $2,200, and close tax loopholes of the very rich while making them pay their fair share. This will reinforce and increase the growth of our economy, responsibly help reduce the defecit by $4 Trillion, and support the creation of jobs, a policy that Markell is firmly behind.
Gov. Markell stated that as the Chair he will continue to work towards creating jobs, and said that he will be announcing his own initiative in a few days designed to promote further job growth. As Chair, Markell seeks to reinforce the efforts by the President to make health care affordable to everyone who needs it, and the continuation of the economic growth that is helping to rebuild the strong middle class.
