President Bill Clinton will keynote the 2009 Delaware Jefferson-Jackson dinner, the Delaware Democratic Party’s biggest annual fundraiser.
The fundraiser will be held at the Chase Center on November 10th.
“We are thrilled that President Clinton will be joining us this year,” said State Party Executive Director Josh Schoenberg. “We are sure the event will help energize Democrats across the state heading into next year’s midterm elections. We are planning for a record turnout.”
In 2008, the Democratic Party picked up six seats in the State House, gaining majority control for the first time since 1984. Democrats also expanded their majority in the State Senate by winning three more seats. Additionally, Democrats maintained control of the Executive Branch, winning races for Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and Insurance Commissioner, kept the U.S. Senate seat in Democratic hands, and sent Barack Obama to the White House with 61% of the vote.
